Ingredients
Base Recipe
1cupplain kefir
1cupfresh fruit or fruit/vegetable puree
1cupfrozen fruit
Additions to YOUR taste
1cuplightly packed leafy greens
¼cupold fashioned or quick oats
1Tablespoonchia, hemp, or ground flaxseeds
1Tablespoonnut butter
¼-½teaspoonflavor extract
¼teaspoonspice
6-8ice cubes
Instructions
Place ingredients in a blender and puree. If using oats and your blender isn't the strongest, consider blending them first before adding the other ingredients. Enjoy!
Notes
If you are looking for a creamier smoothie, choose creamy fresh fruits like bananas, mangoes, and avocados (yes, avocados are a fruit!).Be careful with the leafy greens you choose! Some can be very bitter. Spinach impacts the flavor the least. Hint: banana helps mask the flavor!If your smoothie is too thick after blending, add more liquid.
