How to Secure a Cutting Board

Some cutting boards have non-slip grippers on the edges of the board, but many lack these cutting board stabilizers. A smooth board on a smooth countertop can cause slipping and sliding, which is dangerous! This video demonstrates how to secure a cutting board to prevent slipping by using a damp paper towel or dishcloth.

We prefer using the dishcloth to reduce waste. If you want to use a damp paper towel, consider using one that you used for drying produce or utensils, or use it afterwards for cleaning.

Once you know how to secure a cutting board to keep it from moving, you are ready to put those knife skills into action!
